We woke up about a half an hour late and it was rush, rush, rush to get the boys out the door. Hubby is working from home and I am going to catch up on home work today. I am behind in accounting homework. Blargh.

I really hate it when someone spams every damn list I'm on with an event announcement with vague subject line, like "Sorry for this post, but...". If you are sorry for it, then don't send it. I realize the event is important to you, however, just please put an appropriate subject line in. I know, I'm just annoyed in general and this shit happens all the time. I know, I have a delete key...

Just hasn't been a good morning...

Heh... yeah, I really care about an event on the other side of the country. I hope Tasha lays the smackdown on that poster.

I hate that too.... "I'm sorry to post my event announcement....." Lordy!!! Events are the backbone of the SCA, you should be PROUD to post your event announcement. And you are so right, put in the subject line what it is and within, at a minimum, the first few lines of the announcement put right in the beginning the real world location.

They never bother me as long as they state where (real world) and when right at the beginning. I can then make a very quick analysis and determine whether or not I am interested in reading the rest of the flyer.

It bothers me, too

At minimum, I'd appreciate the geographical area in the subject line, but honestly - our Kingdom alone as 3-6 events in a weekend. On Inter-Kingdom Lists (or worse, Lists that are not just SCA), I'd rather they were banned unless the event is specifically SCA-wide like a one-time-a-year invite to the Big Wars, conferences (SCA Marshals and Heralds, or whatever), that sort of thing. Once the ball starts rolling on smaller event announcements, folks flee the Lists. And that's a shame.

Yeah, unless it's of specific interest to the list, it shouldn't be there. For example, if there were a 14th or early 15th c. pas happening in a relatively populated area, I don't mind seeing it on aotc, a list focused on the 14th c. and NOT SCA specific.
