Well, this weekend I graduated from Catawba College with my Bachelor's in Business Administration! It was a lovely ceremony, and my husband and children came, along with my parents, my paternal Grandmother and my Aunt Vickie. We went out for dinner afterward at La Cava, which was fantastic. And then I was gifted with things, the height of which is a three day, two night trip to Asheville, with Biltmore tours and lunch at the Biltmore, for my husband and I, no children allowed!

Now, I am in the process of applying for the fall semester at University of North Carolina - Charlotte for their Master's in Accountancy program, which should take me 1-2 years to complete, depending how many classes I can take at once. I will also still be working at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College in the Tutoring Center, and as a part-time instructor this fall, teaching accounting.

Now, all I have to do is study for the GMAT, which is why I am posting to lj instead...

I had THE CRUD last week. THE CRUD consisted of stuffed sinuses, green junk in the nose and lungs, and a nice, hacking cough. It was bad. I was sorry to miss Chansons de Sacred Stone, the baronial business meeting and the canton business meeting, but you didn't want me there. Really. I missed a class Thursday and a meeting with the dean, with whom I had left a VM that I was sick and needed to cancel. She replied back saying she was scared to call me, as she was afraid she would catch it over the phone I sounded so bad.

So I basically lost a week there. I laid on the couch and played WoW.

Today was my first day back at RCCC. I had to help a student connect to blackboard and his email this morning - it took us an hour and change. Why this student has not yet had the mandatory computer class I do not know. You are supposed to have to take it the first or second semester you are there. I'm wondering if they are still testing you on this when you take your entrance tests. They were...

My boss wants me to crawl around and plug in some new calculators we got. She's less flexible than me, so I'm the plug / cord monkey.

Tonight I am in my Visual Basic class. I have had the Java class, and the eCommerce class, so this is just the same. Just different syntax. But, since I am taking this course out of order (I should have taken this one first), he is going much slower than I need. So I have some down time...

Which means I can update LJ!

There, I said it.

I had to read The Burning Plain and Other Stories by Juan Rulfo for my Hispanic Culture in Film and Literature class. Juan Rulfo's stories are filled with murder and incest and are DEPRESSING.

Although I am not sure what is worse, Rulfo's stories or my classmates intelligable responses on the discussion board. I need brain bleach. Lots of brain bleach.

Today has been a "put out the fires" type day, and I am tired. I don't mind putting out fires, and with my clients, fires tend to crop up, but today has just been one of those days...

On top of that, I am stressing over school, as it starts Thursday. I think I've gotten the financial aid in place. That's been the most stressful, I think, because I have not had to do that before. However, everything seems to be in place...

Also, I got new living room furniture! You can see the items here. I got a sleeper sofa and love seat in the hydra(blue) color, and I also got a chaise lounge on a chocolate color brown, which is not on the website. It looks good.

We also splurged and got a Wii. I am loving the Wii!

I should get back to work now...

I have been trying to get a hold of someone to get my transcripts from high school. The phone automated menu lists summer hours, yet when I call during those, I just get voicemails. I even emailed the principal yesterday, and have not heard back. Just a little frustrating...

I figured it's about time to post something happy for a change, and not filled with anger. Most of the time I am not really angry, I just tend to post when I am frustrated. So, with that in mind...

My graduation ceremony is Saturday, June 2nd. I am excited. I realize that this is a two-year degree, but it is still very important and empowering to me. I will have my associate's degree in accounting. My GPA ended up at a 3.91 overall. That's not too bad, although I would have reather not had those two B's that brought it down. And the two B's occurred because work had to come first. I have to go pick up my cap and gown today, so that will make it seem more real. I plan to continue on to get my bachelor's degree, but I am just not sure how to do that yet. Right now I am leaning towards University of Phoenix online, simply because it means no travel time. Anyone had an experience or heard things about them?

As far as the SCA goes, I had heard that there would be an interbaronial collegium (in Sacred Stone) at some point soon. Anyone know when that is? My laurel [livejournal.com profile] elfsea_escapee has sewing nights every Thursday, and I need to start back going to them. I need to get back into the game, after basically taking two years off.

Now I am starting to ramble, so more another time!

First off, a quick thanks to [livejournal.com profile] tashamcgann for turning me on to Lily Allen. Love the music!

Now the update:

Work has been busy, but not too bad overall. My boss held a meeting today and acted like someone had shoved a pine cone up his butt. Not sure who shoved it in, but they need to pull it back out.

I got two new work tops from QVC. I loves the QVC. My laptop died again. I will never ever by an HP laptop again. Stupid HP.

On and schools on Spring Break. wh00t! I would flash my boob and get hammered drunk, but I am too tired from working a bunch...

I had to get a crown on another tooth yesterday, which was not very fun, except for the ativan (relaxers). I did the drunk walk out of the dentists office. Heck, I had to take them while I was still at work, so I did the drunk walk out of the office and into the dentists.

St. Urho's Tourney is next weekend, hurrah! It will probably be the only SCA event I get to until school is over, so here's to some fun!

This summer I am hopeful that I will get my Mary Tudor dress done.

Well, things have been busy. I've been given a big project at work, which is really cool and exciting, but has all the stress of a big project that I've never done before. Then one of my night classes was canceled, so now I have to take it during the day, leaving the office for two hours twice a week. Not really what I wanted to do. But it's not too bad. Then I get online tonight and go through my online orientation for my two internet classes, and find that only one of them is listed. So when I go to drop/add tomorrow to add the day class for my canceled night one, I can let them know about the missing class. And to top it all off, we're going to have to fire the payroll girl at work. She's making too many mistakes and needs too much help, and so people are getting messed up checks, which makes us look bad as a firm.

I really do like my job though! :) Just a lot hitting me at once.

Axel put in the announcement for the Saint Urho's Tourney today! Hurrah! That's always a fun event.

I think I need a new icon for my work ramblings...

Ooooo! And I am getting business cards! Never had those before...

I played Hooky yesterday, and used the time to catch up on some homework. I was planning to go today, but we woke up late. I had to run the kids to school, while Geoff stayed home to work (he works from home in the morning and then drives in, but he couldn't drive in today because we woke up late). So I came back home and decided to skip today too. I couldn't have made it to my first class.

It is just really hard to get enthused about school this semester. I don't know why that is. I guess it could be because I am mostly taking general classes, math, English, stuff that really doesn't have to do with my major. But it's hard to get enthused about the accounting ones too though. I don't know, I'm just not excited about it.

I'm watching Kinsey, which is a very unique movie. Very interesting.

Under 3 weeks to go in the semester, yay!

Still enjoying my accounting, which is good. This stupid English paper is almost done. It's an argument paper, and I have just been blocked the whole time. It's been so frustrating. My teacher has been very helpful and understanding, but trying to force writing had just been stressful and frustrating. My management class is still boring, and I can't wait to be done with that teacher. My business law and tax classes have fun teachers, but the subject is still so dry, and technical.

bitch, bitch, bitch, I know...

And I have not done anything SCA-wise in forever, and I am not missing it too much, lol.

I also got a new crochet project!

Well, lessee... Two weekends ago we moved on Saturday, got the house mostly set up Sunday. Then Geoff was at work all week, I was at school all week, the boys were getting used to their new school (which is further ahead academically). Then the weekend came 'round and we got the rest of the crud out of the old house, and Sunday my Nanna came down to visit the new house. She's staying with my parents in Walkertown. And she was not taking her Lasics again... She's supposed to take 80 mg a day, then skip a day. She had started to take them 40 mg one day, 20 the next, which isn't enough of a push to get the extra fluid out, so she was swelling again. But my mom has her back on them now. It's not that she forgets or anything, she just wants to take them her way.

And then it was another week of work/school/school...

I had a business law test tonight, accounting 1 test Monday, Federal Income tax test Wednesday, Management test Wednesday, and an English paper due Thursday.

I am so tired...

It's been a busy week. We close on the house 9/7, and move 9/10. I won't be at SSBB after all... We're trying to pack. I've got homework, the kids have homework, and Geoff is busy picking up all the slack. Hopefully we'll be able to pack more this weekend.

We had the house inspection today, and it went well. The inspector found nothing major, mostly some bonehead mistakes and cosmetic things. But there was a couple of hours I needed to be doing other things... Oh well. I cannot wait until we move!
